About OLRC

The Ongking Learning Resource Center, particularly its library, was conceived as an integral part of the School since its establishment in 1963. Its development began with collection building. At present, for monographs alone, the Reference, General Circulation and Chinese Learning Resource Sections have combined holdings of about 27,000 volumes of print and non-print materials.

There are over 12,000 volumes of new acquisitions meant for the Reading Enrichment and Assessment Program.
The Center supports the mission and vision of Saint Jude Catholic School. It works to accomplish this by providing services to the school community, as well as materials and access to information in support of the curriculum. It particularly assists students in becoming effective users of ideas and information, encouraging them to become life-long readers with a love of learning. It also recognizes that students face increasing cultural and linguistic diversity and burgeoning technical access to huge quantities of information.

The Center strives to provide resources and opportunities for all members of the school community to attain literacy, locate  and evaluate information both electronically and in print, develop critical thinking skills, acquire knowledge, and enjoy the learning necessary to meet the challenges of today’s world.
