SERVICES OFFERED

 

Users Assistance

Librarians help and guide patrons find specific answers to questions. They instruct and assist users in the best means of locating information.

 

Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC)

For fast and easy access, library users may use online library catalog located at the entrance of the Library.

Computer and Internet Services

The Library is equipped with computer units with internet access. Patrons may use the facilities for free.

The use of the Internet within the school premises is for "educational purposes” only. Appropriate and safe use of the Internet and related resources has been set forth in the different School manuals.

 

Circulation

Functions include check-outs and check-ins of materials including renewal and collection of fines and other charges, re-shelving of library materials, and maintaining order in shelving areas. 

 

Instructional Services
 Through this service, the SJCS community are introduced to the use of information sources, facilities and services of the OLRC department.

 

Technical Service
 Responsible for acquiring, cataloging, and processing library collections materials in both print and electronic formats

 

Printing Services

Printing documents is available at 3.00 php for Black and white and 12.00 php for colored.

Audio Visual Service and Multimedia Section

Audiovisual materials available at the OLRC are Compact Discs, DVDs, MP3s, Charts, Maps, Overhead Projectors, and videotapes. These materials are available on a first come first serve basis.

 

Audio-Visual Room

Teachers and students may request for AVR access for instructional or extra-curricular activities. That each activity be carried out under the direct control and supervision of a teacher-adviser.

Current Awareness Services

Display list of new acquisitions, announcements and other library information updates.

 

Referral
Referral letters are issued to researchers to source out materials from other libraries in case such holdings are not available in the Ongking Learning Resource Center.
